We recently completed a 70k Kitchen Remodel but forgot about Soft Close cabinets believe it or not LOL. So I went looking for Soft Close dampers for our cabinets. There were many choices but in the end I decided to try the SoftClose Brand because of the apparent quality & LifeTime Warranty.

Overall I am very pleased & have now ordered 40 of them.

    Positives:

    1. Appear to be made well.
    2. Very easy to install.
    3. Adjustable resistance.

    Negatives:

    1. Not sure why but some of mine have been harder to adjust than others.
    2. Some of mine have needed to be adjusted to the max hold for the same type of door as another that didn’t need to be adjusted for maximum hold. I plan on trying some change outs when my extras arrive finally LOL.
    3. It appears they aren’t strong enough for only one on some doors which means extra cost & one at the bottom making it more noticeable.

FYI. You need to plan on pre-drilling pilot holes so as not to split wood. This adds a little time to installation but is worth it IMO.

I will update my review after we have used them for awhile but so far good upgrade.

They come in a clear plastic bag of 10 with 1 screw each. The item can be screwed in from either side, so no trying to fit a tiny screwdriver in a cabinet usually. Only complaint is that the lip that rests against the cabinet should be slightly larger to simplify the install process. Thanks!

    – Ease of installation
    – They work

    Cons
    – Not as gentle of a close as the mechanisms built into the hinges

Researched this and other similar products, found the reviews of this product to be spot on. My wife and I really appreciate these devices, no more slamming cabinet doors. One reviewer mentioned the need to drill pilot holes, this is good advice, makes it much simipler for the screw. Installing is extremely easy. Just purchased more to place.

I’ve been wanting these for a long time and finally broke down and got them in September. So, it has now been three months and it’s so awesome to have quiet cabinet doors! They are so easy to install too. Just line them up in the upper corner of the hinge side of the cabinet, drill a small pilot hole, and screw them in. Took about 10 minutes to do the whole kitchen. Then you just adjust the tension on them so that the heavy and lighter doors all close the same. Very easy. We aren’t door slammers here, but sometimes they just get away from you or something. Now we don’t have to worry about that. Probably the best and least expensive cabinet upgrade you can do.

I wanted to try out this product before I got them for all of the cabinets, and now that I have tried it, I am very satisfied. I’m gonna pick up more soon. I bought mine from the SoftClose site.

As some people have said regarding installation, you may want to drill a little pilot hole to help install the screw, but it can be accomplished without this step as well. I tried my installation without the pilot hole, and it went well enough.

My cabinet doors are pretty noisy, but with this guy tucked inside my cabinet, the sound is completely dampened to the point that you can’t even hear the door shut. I also really like how the Softclose is so easily adjustable to accommodate a range of doors from heavy- to light-weight.

I also feel good about the durability. The construction is solid, and even if it did break, the warranty is there to get my back. All in all, trying a new product makes it tough to commit to buying for all of your cabinets, but I can easily say there’s no reason to hesitate on a 10 pack or however many you need.

Tired of your kitchen cabinet doors slamming noise? Looking to give your kitchen a high end designer feel? Look no further! SoftClose has the best soft close dampers at the best price. This damper is made of zinc die-cast. I tried the ones from home depot and beside being plastic, they are more expensive. I bought 20 of them and I could not be happier.

I am very happy with this purchase. We have twin 6 year olds and an ‘open plan’ kitchen, family room, etc. In other words, any noise in the kitchen is ‘enjoyed’ by everyone on the main floor. Therefore anything which can reduce the decibel level is welcome! These devices do just that.
I have installed 20 SoftClose anti-slam devices. It took about 30 minutes for the installation. Very straightforward installation process, although I sometimes wish I had smaller fingers.
The dampeners work very well. I would ordinarily have some concern about the useful life (whether, after repeated use, the dampening ability will diminish) but the enclosed documentation promises a replacement unit for any device which might fail.
Now, if someone will invent a device which can selectively modulate the excited utterances of 6 year olds at play—(keep the laughter, tone down the yelling)……

these Soft Close for cabinet doors work great. I bought 20, very easy to install, so I bought another 20 for our summer home. They are especially useful for thinner doors and glass doors, eliminating slamming and rattles when they close. Great product

    :

Bought these to quiet my loud closing cabinet doors. This was easy to install. Just needed to drill a pilot hole and attach screw. This works on self closing hinges. I had to replace some of my hinges that were no longer self closing. Overall, this product was much cheaper than replacing existing hinges with slow close hinges. I like the adjustable tension and it barely takes up any cabinet space. One softclose was sufficient for each cabinet door (with 2 hinges).

I’ve installed these on all of our kitchen cabinets – the installation is very easy (drill a hole, put a screw in, rinse, repeat). Having all the cabinets on a slow close has also made my wife happy, which is obviously the goal at the end of the day. One of the packages (we ordered 3 sets of 10) came without screws – all I had to do was email their customer support and I had the screws a few days later – very helpful and responsive.

First we tried the soft close on our kitchen cabinets. Installation was a snap! For the little time it takes, I do recommend doing the drilling for the pilot holes. After a few weeks of flawless operation, we ordered & installed these closers for the rest of the house. (50 total) No more accidental slamming of doors which should prolong the life on our raised panel doors.
The lifetime replacement warranty makes this a no brainer. I highly recommend this product to anyone interested in preserving their cabinets.

After reading through a number of reviews of various brands, we selected these soft close plungers based on the positive reviews and the price. I installed these on our new kitchen cabinets. Installation was very simple. 3 months later, these work as advertised. A few needed to be adjusted which is simple. I plan to buy more for our bathroom cabinets. I even put one on our fish tank cabinet to eliminate the banging.

Years of slamming doors finally got the best of me and I decided to do something about it. Ordered these and installed a few to test them out. Wow! Simply amazing. So, I orrdered enough for the whole kitchen and my only regret … not installing them sooner!

They work perfectly and install was a breeze. I had them all installed in about 45 minutes (entire kitchen). All our friends are amazed when they go to shut the door and it closes slowly and smoothly. VERY NICE!

I had built mudroom cabinetry and the upper doors all-too-easily would slam shut. I thought I’d try some of these soft close adapters and wow, something so simple yet so cool. Very happy with the results.

Easy to install and effortless to use, just push close a cabinet door and walk away. My wife wants our entire kitchen upgraded with them now.
